The Office Furniture Warehouse team recently had the opportunity to assist the hard working individuals of Maya Professional Services with a compact benching workstation. Maya Professional Services has been in business for 15 years, serving our Hispanic community with financial and legal help. Over those 15 years, the Maya offices have seen an increase in employees and traffic without increasing square footage. As a result, it was hard to move around the crammed configuration of mismatched workstations. In order to optimize the smaller office space, we needed to maximize the workstations within the available footprint. We replaced the ad hoc workstations with a compact benching workstation that would accommodate both users and available space.
Compact Benching Workstation
The space in question is roughly 100sqft., needs to comfortably house two employees and must facilitate customer service through a reception window to the waiting area. Much of Maya’s storage space occupies a wall opposite the window. So, our team installed a compact benching workstation that partitions individual workspaces with a shared work surface. The shared work surface has a post-leg, which allows extra clearance underneath the desk during collaborative efforts. Against the reception window, we installed a height-adjustable desk. The dynamic height settings make serving clients at the window easier and provide an ergonomic option for employees.
